Yin, Yang and Meditation

Most of us have become seekers of information from one another. We believe it saves us time and from “re-inventing the wheel”. While there are certainly gains to be made by this method, much is also lost. We stall our own creativity and ability to deal with urgent matters. Our patterns of coping with stress are mostly conditioned, and survival techniques fill the marketplace in the form of self help books and tapes. These things become nothing more than accumulated patterns of adaptation. Over-thinking, emotional upheaval, overwork, and grasping for more, our lack of awareness is taking a toll on us individually and globally.

The more we look to the external to solve our internal issues, the more divided and confused we become. We often feel inadequate and inferior or we feel omnipotent and superior, neither of which we are. What we are is just that which we are. And it is important to discover this truth for ourselves and not rely on the opinions of others. We are told from a young age what is right and what is wrong, but less often are encouraged to ask ourselves the question and look into it. Or if we do, we come up with the same reiterations of long past. Religion, culture, ancestry and more, influence our answers. Read the rest of this entry »

Meditation and Health

Everyone is concerned for their health and well-being. When healthy we are free from pain, fear, depression and stress. Can you now say you are healthy?

If you suffer from any of the above, then you have dis-ease. Let us look at pain. It is a signal from the physical body, the mind and ultimately the Spirit that something is amiss. Pain leads to fear and stress. We ask: “What does this pain mean to me? How may I overcome it or deal with it?” Read the rest of this entry »
