The Shiatsu Academy of Tokyo

The Shiatsu Academy of Tokyo was founded by Kensen Saito in 1990 and registered fully under the Ontario Private Career Colleges Act in 1994. As the only Registered Shiatsu School recognized by I.S.A. (International Shiatsu Association) in Eastern North America and one of the eight international schools authorized by the Japan Shiatsu College to teach Shiatsu, the SAT is one of the foremost schools in Canada for shiatsu education. Upon completion of our course our students are eligible to take the Shiatsu Therapist Association of Ontario exam, as well as the exam of the Shiatsu Diffusion Society. American students can sit for the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) exam, and most international students will meet the requirements for their local organizations after completion of our program.

All of our teachers have years of experience in their respective fields, and most have been teaching at the college for at least 10 years. Our director and the teacher of the shiatsu practicum has over 35 years of clinical experience and 20 years of teaching experience. Our small class sizes ensure maximum focus and student teacher interaction, and our highly multicultural classes feature students from around the world.

Our spacious and well lit facility is located in the heart of the Danforth at Chester and Bloor, right above the Carrot Common, and minutes away from the Downtown core and the beautiful Beaches district.
